Basically, he just found it difficult to reconnect with the normal life of an everyday citizen. Coukoulis’s mom, Dena, watched her son struggle and decided to take his healing into her own hands.
A few weeks before this Christmas, Dena secretly bought a tiny beagle puppy intending for the precious pup to grow into Coukoulis’s service animal.

She then handed Coukoulis a box with a big red bow on it to open in front of his family. He looked at the box almost knowingly as it started to wiggle but went to open it anyway.
As soon as he saw those big beagle puppy eyes looking up at him, he completely lost it. He said that he knew in that moment that his life was going to change in a good way.

Coukoulis held the adorable tiny puppy against his chest as he cried silent tears and gave the puppy a kiss before he realized that he was being filmed. He said that he was very happy with his new little girl.
