These Samaritans help the helpless without expecting anything in return. One should appreciate the empathy they possess for all the Godly creations. 1. A Live Cry Amidst The Dead
One bright morning, Dimitra, a Serbian woman from Belgrade, Serbia, was crossing through a graveyard. Suddenly, she heard a cry coming from the cemetery. Initially, she was unable to locate the source of the voice. It was a dog’s yelp. After a few moments of howling painfully, the dog she heard the sound again.
2. Who Was Calling Out For Help?
Out of curiosity, she decided to check out the source of the sound. It was coming from one of the tombstones in the cemetery. When she headed in the direction of the yelping, she noticed a large hole beneath dug one of the tombstones. What was inside it?
3. It Was A Peculiar And Heartbreaking Sight
Upon close investigation, Dimitra found that it was actually a scared dog. The helpless animal had dug a hole near a grave and laid down in it to escape the harsh cold in the winter night. Needless to say, Dimitra’s heart cried out on seeing the condition of the bitch.
4. The Dog Was Scared And Struggling To Survive
When the bitch saw Dimitra heading in its direction, it became scared and shrank back into the hole it dug for protection. Dimitra was concerned for its safety and wondered how she could be of assistance to that canine. There was no help in sight also.
5. Dimitra Did Not Give Up On The Dog
The girl didn’t give up on the dog and tried to lure it out of the hole, so that she could take it to safety. She whistled and called out the dog, persuading it to come out of the hole and head to a proper shelter. Once they reached a safe enclosure, then Dimitra could take proper care of the dog. At least, this is what Dimitra had planned.
6. Finally She Managed To Lure The Canine Out
After trying for a short while, Dimitra was able to convince the canine to come out. She had something to eat and offered it to the bitch. It got curious and came out, sniffed at what she had brought. But after a split second, it quickly retreated to the hole it had dug up for itself. It was as if it was hiding a prized possession.
7. A Surprise Awaited Dimitra
Dimitra went towards the hole and had a peek inside it. The pit where the dog had laid the previous night had something inside it. Dimitra noticed something moving inside it and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Four puppies were lying inside the crater. The bitch had dug up the hole to make sure her babies were safe. It was mother’s instinct, after all.
8. Making A Move For The Sake Of Safety
One of Dimitra’s friends, Vesna Mihajloski had posted the entire incident on the social networking site, Facebook. In her post she had written, “You can see the den [she] created and just how compact it was. While it wasn’t ideal, it was the best she could find. The puppies were clearly struggling to survive, so Dimitra gave them a bit of dog food. The puppies were very frail and were lucky to have been found.â€
9. Discovering New Lives In The Hole
By this time the dog had warmed up with the girl and wasn’t scared of Dimitra any more. Dog’s have a strong instinct. It had correctly guessed that Dimitra couldn’t leave them alone. Dimitra was there to help out this adorable canine family out of their desperation. And she had to make some quick decisions if she had to rescue them.
10. Calling Up Another Samaritan For The Salvage
Dimitra realized that she could not handle all the dogs by herself. She surely could use somebody else’s help. She took out her phone and dialled Vesna Mihajloski’s number. She knew that her acquaintance was the only person that would help the poor dogs out of this situation. When Mihajloski was told about the dogs’ miserable circumstances, she gladly took all of the dogs in her own custody.
11. Updates About The Family In Present Times
Eventually, the whole family got a safe haven, with warm beds to relax. There was plenty of food and water to drink. With some nutrition in their bellies, the exhausted mama decided to catch up on some much-needed sleep. It was a reassuring sight for both Vesna and Dimitra.
12. Love Knows No Bounds
Thanks to the girl, Dimitra, for her efforts. Her timely rescue put the animals to safety. Now, Vesna, Dimitra, the bitch and her pups have bonded up like a close-knit family. All they give each other in return is loads of love. Though they cannot communicate in the same language, but the fondness they have for each other says it all.
13. But Not Every Dog Is Lucky
However, it’s heart wrenching to say that not all dogs out there aren’t lucky enough to have a home over their heads. This is why it is important that people should wake up to this reality. They should make it a priority to adopt dogs from shelters instead of breeders.
14. Dogs Are Extremely Loyal To Their Owners
If you thought keeping a dog in the house was a liability, then think again. They are fiercely loyal and never leave your side. Not only that, they accompany you around and make sure that you are never alone. They also have a strong intuition, and can point out impending dangers. So, having a dog at home is never a disadvantage.
